I figure I'd drop in to give you guys an update on the progress of the Athena Project novel editing progress. I'm going a little slower than I wanted, but I'm happy with what I've done so far. A month and a half later, I'm pretty satisfied with chapters 1-9 (which I call "part 1") and here's what was accomplished besides grammatical corrections:

Chapter count of "part 1" has grown from 8 to 9 chapters.
Page count has grown from 43 to 59 pages (double spaced).
Word count has grown from 7,959 to 11,102 (39% more words than the rough draft).

I was thinking of throwing a sample out there to some test readers so let me know if you're interested. I'm more or less interested in people who read quite a few science fiction books or have been in the military. Meanwhile, I'm going to set up some sort of system on my website for access to the test reads. Please only apply if you're serious about this and are willing to give elaborate feedback other than "that was cool!" or "this sucks ass".

Also, if anyone is interested in writing themselves, I'd love to know. Maybe I can point you in the right direction.
