"Still surprisingly good nine years later!"
I was expecting time to not be very kind to this one, but it still looks and plays pretty damn well. It was a gripe back in the day that you couldn't die in CI1, but with casual gaming titles like Bioshock that give you no penalty for dying, you could almost say this game was ahead of its time. I doubt you have the fla anymore, but the only things I would change would be fixing the preloader, changing the music to feature artists in the audio portal, and changing the sound effects to something not from a recognizable game. Those are the only factors that really date this.
Author's Response:
The .fla is looong gone. Other than fixing the preloader, it would feel awkward to go back and change the sounds after 10 years.

Unknown34 is right. McFretN may not have submitted in a while, but he's still a hero on Newgrounds. It's such a shame CI2 and 3 are plagued with graphical glitches with the new Flash players. Even thought this was inspired by Jumpgate, I couldn't help but think of this short when I watched the Battlestar Galactica miniseries. I love the true Newtonian physics in the dogfight. The part when the two fighters were pummeling the cruiser after the one guy kamikazes the cruiser still gives me chills.

"Still one of my favorite games on NG."
Wonderful game, wonderful weapons for many different play styles, and a plethora of upgrades. NG desperately needs a sequel to this. The final mission was a pretty cool twist as well. If you do make a sequel, step up the graphics and offer even more variety in the levels. The graphics in this one were hit and miss. Some things looked really good, and other things not so much. Everything looks like it's converted to bitmaps in the end so definitely make better art next time around since it won't make a difference in performance if you bitmap them. Keep up the great work!

One of the best platformers I've ever played. I'm definitely looking forward to a sequel. That level 3 boss fight had me worried for a moment!

I enjoyed this greatly. Brings a whole new meaning to "balls out". It'd be nice if there were more power ups but this is a pong update, not Arkanoid. Great choice in music as well. A remix of Popcorn is very fitting.

"Madness will never be bad, but I'm a bit tired."
I've watched Madness movies since I was 17 and they're always a hoot to watch, but it just doesn't feel as special to me anymore (especially with all the second rate knockoffs now). I wish you would explore something else that hasn't been done to death like Project IV. Don't get me wrong, the fans want more Madness and you sure as hell are delivering. I'll never ever complain about a Madness movie, but I'm just recommending you broaden your horizons.

But I'm gonna have to nitpick. AIF's are traditionally an Apple format so why the heck is Quicktime saying it can't handle it? Quicktime was born for the AIF format. Other than that, this was an awesome tribute to the greatest media player around.

"I wish Megaman really had moves like that."
I'll admit, I didn't expect much when the movie started and I watched the first life. On the second life it started getting cool, but I love how you included "I can't Defeat Airman" as the theme for the final bout but for those who haven't heard the song, you may have wanted to include subtitles. What game did you get the updated Airman sprite from?

Exactly how I feel about teeny bopper films. Afterward, they shoulda went down the hall to the next theater and watched Let the Right One In (another vampire movie playing right now) and enjoy the hell out of it, and then wonder why it was never advertised all over the place like Twilight was. Have you actually seen Twilight yet? I'd love to know how accurate things were with your depiction. I'll have to Netflix it when it comes to DVD because I really can't bash it till I've seen it.

First run through, I'd say for a Flash game, you came the closest ever to recreating the environment of Buffalo Bill or Red Dragon's hide-outs. The music selection was excellent and added to the stress the game induced (in a good way). The voice acting was cheesy, but most sociopaths probably sound the same. I was also very impressed by the title screen. Reminded me of a sequence from Saw. Methreon dissed you and said the game felt like a poorly produced movie. I'd say if this game feels like a B horror movie (and it did), you're right on the money.
On the second run through, I was able to get into the 2nd room and got my hands untied, but after many more tries, I was clueless what to do from there. The stethoscope on the ground was too dark for me to see from the rush of trying to find a way out. Also, the lock sequence was unbearably difficult and took forever to do (and if I'm not mistaken, most combo locks go right-left-right instead of left-right-left). I feel that if a game needs a walkthrough to beat, it's too hard. I also thought the sequence of events to open the garage door were outlandish as well and that probably nobody was ever able to figure that one out without a walkthrough.
I'm glad that Tom Fulp recognized the hard work you put into this and put this entry on the front page even though others don't. Next time, I think objects need to be more visible and methods need to have a little more common sense. I would have given this a much lower score, but you really won me over with your production quality.
